In research, we find hope. In hope, we find healing.
My commitment to research is fundamental to my practice, driving a continuous pursuit of knowledge and innovation in women's health. I firmly believe that evidence-based medicine, informed by rigorous research, is essential for delivering the highest quality care. My ongoing PhD studies, focusing on obesity in pregnancy, exemplify this dedication, reflecting a desire to contribute to advancements that directly impact patient outcomes. I actively engage in research to refine clinical practices, enhance patient understanding, and ultimately improve the lives of women and their families. This commitment ensures that my clinical approach remains at the forefront of medical progress.

My commitment to advancing women's health is reflected in a diverse body of peer-reviewed publications, spanning critical areas of obstetrics and gynaecology. My research encompasses investigations into the effectiveness of interventions for conditions like obstructive sleep apnea in pregnancy, comparative studies on birth outcomes, and evaluations of procedural implementations such as postpartum IUD insertion and universal cystoscopy. Additionally, I have explored factors influencing surgical outcomes, the impact of maternal obesity on childbirth, and the validation of tools for measuring respectful maternity care. These publications underscore my dedication to evidence-based practice, improving patient safety, and contributing to the broader understanding of women's health through rigorous research and analysis.

My dedication to advancing women's health through rigorous research is further evidenced by a portfolio of successful grant acquisitions. These grants have supported a range of investigations, from exploring the impact of high BMI in pregnancy to optimizing vaginal birth outcomes and improving respectful maternity care. Notably, I have secured funding for studies examining the effectiveness of CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea in pregnancy and the management of peripheral intravenous catheters during childbirth. Additionally, collaborative projects have focused on reducing emergency cesarean births and developing evidence-based care bundles. These grants, from organizations like the Education Research Trust Fund and Wishlist, demonstrate a commitment to securing resources for impactful research that directly benefits women's health.

As a dedicated educator and communicator, I actively contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and best practices in obstetrics and gynaecology. My engagement extends beyond clinical practice to include presentations at national scientific meetings, webinars, and hospital seminars, addressing critical topics such as termination of pregnancy, CPAP in pregnancy, and gestational diabetes. I have also pioneered innovative educational platforms, hosting and producing a women's health podcast to reach a wider audience. My commitment to training the next generation of medical professionals is evident in my role as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Griffith School of Medicine, training supervisor for RANZCOG trainees, and facilitator for PROMPT training. Additionally, I oversee the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research and Audit program at The Sunshine Coast University Hospital, fostering a culture of inquiry and mentorship. My involvement as an examiner for medical student examinations further underscores my dedication to upholding high standards in medical education.
